Jamiyah’s vision for Rich & Rooted Medspa was born from both personal experience and observation. She saw people she loved struggle with frustrating skin issues – from stubborn hyperpigmentation to untreated scarring – and noticed a serious lack of skincare and aesthetic services tailored to Black and melanin-rich skin. In many traditional medspa settings, practitioners often did not understand the unique needs of deeper skin tones. These gaps in care struck a chord with Jamiyah. She felt called to create a solution: a space where people of color would finally feel seen, heard, and properly cared for in their skincare journeys. The name “Rich & Rooted” itself carries special meaning. It signifies the richness of diverse beauty (particularly the richness of melanin) and being rooted in one’s identity and community. Under Jamiyah’s guidance, Rich & Rooted Medspa specializes in treatments that celebrate and safely treat darker skin tones, using techniques and products chosen with intention. Every service – from facials and peels to injectables – is approached with cultural sensitivity and personalized care, ensuring that each client’s natural glow is brought forth in the healthiest way possible.
